On Wednesday, October 11, we expect the Hanseatic Nature to arrive at the quay for her maiden call in Amsterdam. She is ‘only’ 138 meters long, has 9 decks and can accommodate 230 passengers. A Plaque & Key ceremony will also be held for the Hanseatic Nature; the moment when Amsterdam hands over the key to the city to the ship, in exchange for a plaque. Each maiden call receives a plaque and a book as a gift from Jimmy Nelson; Between the Sea & the Sky. In it he portrays twenty communities in traditional costume – from Axel in Zeeland to Hindeloopen in Friesland and from Katwijk to Rijssen. An asset to any library!
